David Tyme is a Consultant Partner in our Employment Team.   
 
A highly experienced Employment lawyer, he has particular expertise in leading clients on  professional misconduct, and fitness to practise matters. He acts for both employers and employees on the full range of employment law issues, from recruitment through to post-termination. He has expertise in contentious matters such as unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, breach of contract, and equal pay. In addition, he regularly represents clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings, including preliminary hearings and full merits hearings.

Beyond contentious work, David has substantial experience in non-contentious matters. These include drafting and negotiation of severance and settlement agreements particularly for senior executives as well as advising HR teams on disciplinary and grievance processes, restructures, redundancies, and policy implementation. 

Furthermore, David represents professionals in fitness to practise and professional misconduct proceedings before regulatory bodies including the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). He is also a Legally Qualified Chair appointed to preside over police misconduct proceedings. 

David’s practice includes civil litigation, particularly in matters involving property disputes, breach of contract, and debt recovery. He can provide ad hoc advice, as well as to chair internal disciplinary and misconduct hearings.
